Don't run virus protection or live wallpaper...download launcher pro...you wil speed up significantly
  3. its all about settings for battery life, and sometimes the phone needs a reboot

    Slow? This thing is speedy.

Don't see much difference between launcher pro and sense UI
  5. Tell your friend to join the forum and ask the question himself. That way we could ask him other questions that might reveal the cause.

Froyo made mine faster and the battery life is arguably better (possible placebo).

    "Slow" is subjective.

launcher pro has smoother animations, for sure. But it doesn't "speed up" anything. Sense is still running in the background, so it doesn't help out the CPU at all simply because you're running a launcher app on top of sense's launcher.
