General Why is my google maps always showing my location as accurate to 500 metres?

    as a gps device thats of no use to me as you can imagine. It ALWAYS says 500 metres!?? im with o2, is this a network problem or a faulty phone?? :thinking:

    my two pence, get a professional navigation application and you would get better accuracy. also, someoneelse has already pointed out to you in one of your other posts that using A-GPS i.e. network based GPS may not be the most accurate. To get higher accuracy, you need to have a clear line of sight to the sky. Install the GPS tracker app to track the satellites your phone is able to receive and lock to.

    If your using your data signal, which by the sound of it you are, it could be your area. if your in a building like a block of flats that will also make itless accurate, as these signals are distrupted by walls.

    My DHD puts me about 1000 metres away.
    iPhone 4 locates me perfectly fine. Both on Google Maps.

    Tut tut what a simple minded statement, my DHD gets me perfectly, even specificto what room I'm in.

    Please we're all nice open people here at Android Forums, dont be an iFanboy

    My DHD gets me within a metre on google maps, everytime, even indoors and there are a few big trees around here aswell

    what app should i download. any good free ones? or whats the most decent paid for one
