It shouldn't be taking that long. If anything, it should take maybe 10 seconds at the worst. Mine usually takes about 2 seconds.

Have you read any of the threads that were already made about phone lag or dialer lag?

I have the same issue! ya tap on someone and it seems to just take forever to call them. I had this same issue when I was on 1.5. I did the v3 and it seems to have cleared up a bit. I'm just constalty killing apps to have the phone feature running quick.

What apps do you have to kill? Just trying to see if there is one in particular that is giving people this same problem.

I had the same problem when I installed the 2.1 leak. the dialing was delayed and sometimes the mic or speaker would not work when it did go through. I had to turn off/on my phone to get it to work again. my solution, my droids trackball BB mysteriously stopped functioning and I had Verizon give me a new droid for free with the 2.1 update. now all is well :)

yep, it seems there were phones sent out that had issues with the 2.1 update, per the Verizon agent I talked to. mine, with the dialing problem, also had the defect were when you used your phone while connected to your charger, your screen would fly to the left. if you were using the gps app, your screen would eventually show the west coast and the pacific ocean. just best to get a replacement phone if your phone is under a year old.

yeah, mine would go crazy when plugged in. I could hold my finger over the screen and the screen would somehow detect it (again not touching the screen) and icons on the screen would go crazy. Made it impossible to use a lock pattern when plugged in.

    Two things definitely helps:
    (1) Clear the call log regularly
    (2) Do a battery pull (for 1 minute) every night.

Since I have been doing this the phone is fast and no silent bug.
