Why is the network so slow on an Air Force Base?

I work at an Air Force Base and my 4G LTE download speed is cut from 10Mbps to roughly 100kbps. What's up with that? Are they jamming it? Is there a product that I can buy to boost this somehow?

I'm guessing the base is just in an area without much network capacity.

Unfortunately third-party add-ons that claim to boost your cell signal are usually bogus. Also if it's due to network capacity rather than radio signal strength they wouldn't help much anyway.

How many bars of LTE do you get?

    I think so.

Military installation, civilian carriers probably can't just go putting cell towers anywhere they like there. Could be just one or two towers for the whole base, many people trying to use them.

Nevermind, it's not the base, it's just our building. Getting 100-500kbps inside and 5Mbps outside. I'm not getting the LTE notification on my phone, just "4G".

Are there any <$100 4G LTE boosters that work that I can buy which don't require wiring into the building?

I have LTE in the bathroom 50ft away, and only in the bathroom, not in the hallways or office...weird.

See if this app works for you. It helps boost internet connection by connecting your device radio to a stronger tower. It works great for me. Who knows, it might work for you too.

    How old is the building?

If it's a newer building there is a possibility that it's TEMPEST shielded for RF. Access to a LTE signal in the restroom may just be an anomaly.

Which basically means it's a Faraday cage. Reinforced concrete buildings with steel frames tend to have an RF shielding effect anyway.

Bathroom window might have a clear view of the cell tower.
