Nexus S ships with Gingerbread 2.3 on the 16th of December. Gingerbread was released to developers yesterday so bugs can be fixed as well as other tweeks. So how does the Nexus S have a finished Gingerbread product already installed.

Thats not why they release the SDK of 2.3; it's to give developers a chance to update their software so their apps work when 2.3 is rolled out not to fix bugs.

Often a hotfix may come out shortly after release based on feedback, but that is not the purpose of the SDK release.

Understood... I'm used to Apple's way of releasing OS updates. I'm new to Android and I can see I have alot to learn. Thanks for the info.

    Samsung bash incoming. DUCK!!

It's because Samsung has a customer guarantee to release buggy and annoying phones. It's their only motto.
