Why is torrent download speed on my Note 10.1 2014 edition about 1/5 of the speed of my Windows PC

I have a 50 Gb 802.11n Wifi connection and speed tests on the tablet indicate that torrent speed should be super fast.

Is this a general limitation in the Android platform?
