I know there are a few threads like this out there but I was wondering is there still a big advantage to root your phone after you update to 2.2 ? I am new at all this and don't really understand the lingo lol. But is there a big difference from a rooted phone to a phone updated? I am thinking of doing it to my phone but I really dont know much about it and will most likely not get to far into the guts of my phone.

To restore apps that you backed up with titanium backup, and to uninstall bloatware.

To access paid apps in Maket (yes, there are countries where Google still doesn't want your money).

Froyo doesn't supersede the advantages of rooting. I doubt any OS update will. It's a bit like asking if Windows 7 replaces the need for administrative rights on a PC.

Not ready to take your money != doesn't want your money.
