[vent]Why do you sell Top Up cards for amounts other than what you charge. For example, I need to pay $45 a month, but I can never buy a $45 card, it's either $40 or $50. It's inconvenient in months where I don't have funds in my debit card and HAVE to pay cash. I use VM for the same reason many do, it's what I can afford. I don't see the need for me to buy more than I actually need.[/vent]

I feel much better now

It all depends on what region your in. Haven't really had an issue being in New England, but some retailers I've found sell a you decide card for virgin. You choose the amount from 25 to 55. Hope the info helps.

dude - ok I should not be complaining about this but for several months on ebay I was getting USD60 cards for between 35 and 39 bucks. I still truly don't understand what was going on, I'm assuming it was some sort of money laundering scheme? but now the prices have all gone back up to card face value. ok so I guess I am complaining or whining or some junk. (also I wish I had bought about 17 extra cards before the prices jumped)

    ennaways -

if you live near a radio shack store, they will sell you exactly the amount you want (plus tax :p ) - ignore the actual physical card display, simply go up to the counter/register and ask them. they'll print you a receipt with the PIN on it.

ps mods please feel free to move this to a non-root forum or something

At Target (at least my local store) top-up cards are available in all Beyond Talk and Paylo plan amounts.

Since I still have a $25 plan in my house, though, I end up doing what you do and alternating between $30 and $20 cards. No way am I giving them my debit card directly - I see too many people talk about being double charged. Even if that is mostly due to operator error, I won't take the chance when there's an alternative.

Radio Shack, as posted above, any amount without a card being on display.

Radio Shack has become cellular central. You can't get advice on anything other than a cell phone from the staff there anymore. Try finding a capacitor to replace one you fried on your mb when oc'ing, or anything else electronics based other than a fully built phone, like beating your head against a wall. Guess I'm just old school, when I was younger, the guys at RS new every question I could come up with, and if they didn't have the part in stock, they would help you find a way to get it. Damn I'm old!

BTW- I have an offer from Google Wallet for Radio Shack that gives $10 off a purchase of $40, good till Aug 1. I'll buy two months of service for $60. ;)

I agree with the OP. I'm still on the $25/month plan, and it's getting REALLY DIFFICULT to find $25 cards.

If you have a CVS near you, you might wanna look there. I'm in Charlotte, and most CVS stores have "multi cards" (you choose $15, $25, $35, $45 or $55). And they're reusable, too. I haven't reused one myself... I was going to do that last month, but got a new card instead because I farted around until the day my bill was due and didn't want any problems. But I asked the lady at CVS and she said that she'd refilled the cards several times, didn't recall anyone having a problem with them, and usually heard a text message chime from the user's phones before the transaction was complete.
