I am trying to set my phone up as a WI-FI hotspot - my laptop detects it as Telus 3G and shows full signal strength. When I try to connect to it, it asks me for a security key. Just wondering where I get/find the security key.

    Thanks

The first time I used my Hotspot I had to set up a security key for future use so check the sub menu in the hotspot app .... and beware it chews battery!!

Thanks. That's what I need is the security key - I have went in to "wireless & networks" and have tried every option to find the security key but have had no luck. I am using LG optimus one with Google.

    Hi

Mine is under WiFi hot spot settings, there is a 'security' section which has a way for me to choose level of security I want to apply and then a place for me to input a code. You make up the code yourself and then input that same code into the other device you are trying to connect e.g. Kindle, laptop, when it asks for the security key.

If you don't have similar then try looking at online manual for your phone for instructions?
