I have an AT&T Radiant Android phone. If I have Wi-Fi turned on, every time it detects, a Wi-Fi signal, it makes a sound. The same sound it makes if I get a text message. They both seem to use the same sound set by "Default notification" in the settings. I don't want to be notified if a Wi-Fi signal is available. I like to take walks, and I don't like hearing that sound every time I pass a building. But I do like to use Wi-Fi when I'm bars or restaurants or even my own home. It's a pain to keep turning Wi-Fi on and off. But I do want to get the notification when I receive a text message. Is there a way to separate the two?

Try going to Settings > WiFi > 3 dot menu > Advanced and turn off "network notification".

I don't see a 3 dot menu on Wi-Fi. Just a list of Wi-Fi's, and On or Off.

Is there no 3 dots or 3 lines near the top of the screen? Does your phone have a dedicated menu button? Use that.

I found it. Thanks. I was looking for three lines on the screen. There is a three lines button on the phone below the screen.
