widgets on evo 4g

I am a Sprint Hero Owner and of course I'm looking forward to purchasing the EVO. As we all now the Hero just can't handle the widgets on the home screen. How does the EVO handle Widgets? How is the scrolling thru the interface feel? I have about 400 contacts. Sometimes scrolling can be choppy, or sluggish. Also does the EVO answer calls fast? Sometimes on my Hero it just takes a long time for the phone to recognize I hit the answer key. This is my second HTC phone and honestly there starting to piss me off. Is the phone really worth it. I would really appreciate your honest opinions.

I came from a hero that I hatred and the evo is a million times faster and better in every way.

I only used the Hero for a month because it was just too slow after I installed my apps and widgets. My new EVO is a lot faster. I have tons of widgets, and the speed is still really good.
