Hi there- long time reader, first time poster.

My question is- if I have wifi turned on and am connected, and have it set to never disconnect when sleepeing, should I turn mobile network off?

So basically, will/can the info pulled to my phone over the mobile network be pulled over wifi with no impact on my end?

This question is mostly in respect to battery life.

    Thanks,
    Brian

I think the general consensus is that WIFI does in fact use less battery then 3g, so it will be a battery savings. Only thing is 3g is required for downloading MMS media...only downside i see.

I get MMS so rarely I think the savings would be worth it. I'll just have remember to switch it back when I leave the house.

Thanks for the quick reply, Caddy.

It's also my understanding that when wifi is connected the mobile network is shut off. Confirm/deny?

Well wifi takes over, but i think unless actually turned off, it stays on (although in the background)
