You will need to load a rom with 2.3.6 which includes wifi calling. There a few on XDA.

You will need to call T-Mobile to get wifi calling enabled for this to work.

    Sure 2 ways:

    Harder way
    1. You can flash the official rom (unrooted) with odin. But then you will need to root again. You can use my guide in the root section to re-root. To flash you would unzip/unrar the file and flash selecting PDA in odin. My guide in root shows how to do this.

    Easier Way
    2. Install a rooted 2.3.6 rom with wifi calling in the recovery menu. You will download a zip file (this is the rom) and you flash it in recovery.

Please be aware you will need to have a brand new sim for wifi calling to work. Some of the older sims don't seem to work. You will also have to call T-mobile to enable wifi calling on their end.

Here is a good rom (zip format) that has wifi calling and is pre-rooted (2.3.6 ). This means you will keep your root:

    Juggenaut 4.0

    HOW TO INSTALL:

    See here

*scroll to the part about flashing a custom rom.

Hi, I was poking around at the XDA forum and be able to get the new rom 2.3.6. However, I just noticed it unrooted my phone. I won't be able to use Titanium Backup to get rid of the Tethering Manager.

What can I do now to get root access again?

    (many thanks Blue1k)

OH I see. I scrolled back to the top of the page and see it.

So, before I proceed, let me ask.. by following your step, will it wipe out all my apps and account info on my phone?

Previously, I followed the steps in GalaxyS2Root.com, it won't clear my data.

No it shouldn't. It is only flashing a new recovery and the superuser app and su framework. I would backup any really important stuff just in case.

I have problems with WiFi (Wi-Fi) calling. The phone simply enters a "dead mode" in which the phone loses its ability to make ANY calls. No calls, zip; neither via WiFi or the Cell network. This "dead mode" appears to be permanent. T-Mobile simply told me they knew about this problem and that I should call Samsung. Anybody has a workaround?
