El-cheapo ICS device, capacitive screen even...
No problem connecting to any one of four secured WAPs in my house.
But when the owner of the device tries to connect to the WAP in their place, it lets them type in the PW, but the "Connect" button remains disabled.
When I try to replicate the problem here, it seems like there is a built-in ad-hoc edit check for a PW that is at least 8 characters long. Doesn't matter what the characters are - even 8 spaces works - but as soon as the eighth character is typed, "Connect" is enabled.
Seems like a likely cause to me - i.e. the owner does not know their own password.
Would anybody agree?
Other possibilities?
