Hi guys my first post on here so please bear with me.
my Desire is about 9 months old and have downloaded a couple of upgrades, but since last one when i try to enable wifi it just says error.
Also sometimes have to try 5 or 6 times to connect a call.
been told to do factory reset but worried i will lose contacts etc. have tried to download to pc via sync but not sure what best prog to open with.
    any ideas anyone?

If your contacts are stored as google contacts they will just re-sync when you next log in.

Otherwise, what's wrong with HTC Sync? OK, I no longer have an HTC ROM, don't use Outlook, so it's no use to me, but it should do as a basic backup.

Some stuff can be saved on the phone, e.g. you can back up contacts to SD. Or there are backup apps like MyBackup which don't require root, so you could try one of those.
