Root Wifi tether and new kernel version?

    I rooted my girlfriends new droid mainly to add wifi tethering, its saying I needed an new kernel version.
    Is there any quick fixes or should I just rom it also?

    Check and see if you have the most recent version of wireless tether available in the market. That should do it.

    mine says im on the wrong kernel version as well, it still works though

    Does it possibly say that your kernel doesn't support access control? if that is all it says then it will still work fine.

    Some how the kernel on the DX doesnt support acces control. All it does is disables that feature from the app when you run it. Make a password and will give a function like sort of.
