    Hey All,

I have a question. I picked up my XooM yesterday and so far so good. However, it doesn't appear that I can connect my Xoom to my Rooted Droid Incredible via the hacked Wifi Tether App. I know this creates an "Ad-Hoc" network connection and wondering if that is the issue. The Xoom can't connect to an Ad-Hoc network? Anybody been able to successfully connect the Xoom to a rooted Android phone?

That's why I got 3G. Tether will probably happen with root.

Hmmmm, I wonder if I am using the wrong app. Do you happen to know what app for tethering you are using?

The droid doesn't support infrastructure wifi tether like some of the newer devices do through wireless tether app.

You can do it through Bluetooth settings from phone to Xoom. Wireless from phone to Xoom on certain Roms will not work but the bluetooth option does.

Works fine (Wireless Tether) on the gTablet with Incredible, but unlike other chipsets, Tegra 2 does not have wifi, so depends on the radio used in Xoom:

    Tech blog info:

"Tegra 2 SoC includes a lot of features, but it eschews cellular modems and Wi-Fi"

I have droid 1 also and cant get it to work without using the Bluetooth option on the Wireless Tether App. Apparently there are patches depending on what rom you are running but I still havent figured out how to do this. Right now I have the Wireless Tether App running but in Bluetooth mode and am able to connect my xoom though that to tether. I'm ok with this but I was wonder if when you tether through bluetooth, do you lose speed compared to just regular wireless tethering?

I will still maintain my 3g (bought on 2 year contract) so that I can upgrade to 4g which I will not need on my phone. Will save me from buying a new phone. Another $200 saved. So basically I got 4g monthly service for free for 2 years.

Is wifi tether the name or the tether app you're using or did you mean "wireless tether" app?

    Also,
Is your X stock rooted? ApeX 1.4.1?
Let me know what System you're running on.

Yes, I am aware you must be rooted. See my devices by my avatar :p

A simple misunderstanding, I meant what system do you have running on your DX?
Are you running a custom system like ApeX,Rubix, TranQ, or are you stockrooted?
