    Hi

I was wondering if the option to turn an android handset into a mobile wifi hotspot was built into all android versions from 2.2 onwards? If so, does every handset with froyo or gingerbread have this feature? If not, does anyone know if ICS will have this as a standard setting?

I ask because I read that Google included this funtionality in 2.2, but also read of users having difficulty getting a wifi access point & having to root their handsets & install a special app from the market to allow this type of tethering.

And yes, I have this functionality on my Galaxy S, but I am thinking about the future.

    THANKS.
    :)

it is in there.. via USB.. but most carriers lock that feature/function out.

so you have to use the carrier's paid version or root it.
