    czarphanguye and Zardos like this.
  2. I can see how this would be more useful once someone figures out a way to show games via the HDMI.

yes, I can't wait until someone implements HDMI output with apps.

I've been reading that 2 different programmers cannot get their wii-remote apps to work with HTC Sense UI.

    Oh well.

    They'll figure it out.

HDMI out, emulators, and a few controllers that can be linked up via Bluetooth for 2-4 player action will be badass.

  5. Man, if they can figure out how to get this to work with Sense I will be a very happy man. That would be ideal if they can also get HDMI out to work with apps.

I hate sense even more now.

    It NEEDS to be optional.

Anybody have any updates on this?

I've tried disabling Sense UI and still doesn't work (I tried it by downloading the free "Wiimote Controller" app.)

I updated to froyo but my bluetooth won't turn on... geez...

Stuck... I really want to be able to use the wii controller.

Boy I hope your Right and soon. Imagine being anywhere there is an HDMI tv and pluging in your EVO and pulling out a couple Wii remotes and playing your friends. Now that would be some wow factor.

I'd convince everyone I know to get EVOs so easily if this were possible.

Has anyone with a rooted Evo tried the wii remote yet? Also any HDMI out progress with the new roots/roms?

Even with a Senseless rom, the Wiimote wont work.

    I mad.

There really isnt a true sense less rom since we don't have AOSP.

I'm running a rooted EVO (stock rom, I did unrEVOked), and I tried this but got nowhere. It won't pair, either through WiiMote or through the BT settings (it sees it but can't connect properly). :(

They need to fix WiiMote to support our SenseUI or whatever SenseBT changes are breaking it.

Yeah in pretty sure this will need to be done on the WiiMote side. Hopefully they will see the need/want of having such a option on the Evo.

Same goes for the HDMI video output.

I guess it will all be just a matter of time. (I JUST DONT WANNA WAIT!).

Wish I new more about android programming.

Doesn't seem to be directly linked to Sense itself - I'm running EVOlution V8 - which is froyo and has no sense whatsoever; and the wii apps still won't pair (but my wiimote is recognized in the settings)

What if you turn Sense off? You can turn Sense off... try using it with it turned off. Go to Settings, Applications, Manage applications, Htc Sense, then click on force stop.

If it works after you do that, then let us know.

This has been tested numerous times, it's something in the BlueTooth stack, not the SenseUI itself, but perhaps the HTC code.

I sent an email to HTC last week and here's what they had to say...

So it *IS* fixable (by the community) then?? :D :D :D

And here we all thought HTC broke it...

This all doesn't add up to me.

    HTC made the Nexus one

Google obviously had control over the software in the Nexus one

So, a Google Android + HTC combo should be good to go.

talz13: Can you show this thread to HTC and ask them how the Bluetooth stack in Nexus One running 2.1 is different from the one in EVO running 2.1? I agree SOMETHING is fishy here. I might have to try this with my Nexus One just to confirm this is true. It's running 2.2 older RC build but I think to upgrade it I need to first factory reset it, so if I do that, I will try it out with my Wiimote.
