I think I know the answer to this, but, I am returning my Incredible for a EVO..When I do this, and download AppBrain, and have it sync my apps, will everything I had downloaded/purchased for the Incredible show up and be available for me to download/install on my EVO?

I assume 2.1 is 2.1, and I should be able to get all the "offiicial" stuff; things like Swype, and others may take awhile to show up for the EVO..

    thanks!

Good question but I was curious as to how you like using swype. I heard it was dope but I wanted to find out more about it as I am new to android.

well, I am an old fart, so I dont text all that much, but for emails, and texting, its da bomb...
takes about 2 days to really master, but, even I can send a 3 line text now in about 20 seconds, and tapping away used to take at least 3 times as long!
you basically make swype your "default keyboard", and its there for you everytime you need to invoke the keyboard..should be standard on all devices...

Your apps are tied to you google account so they should show up in market upon sign in.

Sounds awesome! I am a bit concerned with using a virtual kb coming from nothing but berries and the palm pre. I love an actual kb so this is definitely going to take some time to get used to.

How do you like the google voice feature? Does it really text and email via your voice?

Funny thing about the apps, previous poster is correct about apps being tied to your Google account, but it's only the paid apps that are tied to it!
Now that is what I have always heard, but everytime I would flash a new ROM on my hero and would go to the market every app that i had previously installed on the previous ROM was there paid or not. The kicker is if I did not install those paid apps on my first entrance into the market after flashing, the next time went back the non paid apps were not showing.

    Just something to think about.

your apps will stay there for a day after you get the evo so you have a day to load them all

you will get used to a virtual kb in no time. I came from Iphones for 3 years, so the transition was not any issue.
Google voice is wonderful, and very useful...I have had an account for years, when they were called Grand Central, and I use that number for all my business calls/messages.
native android allows you to speak your texts on its own..there is an app called Handscent for texting that you will want to get first thing..
Actually, go to appbrain.com, and start looking around at all the awesum apps out there for Android..you will be very pleasantly surprised!
