Root Will root interfere with OTA 2.2 upgrade?

Hi, I just got a Google nexus one that is rooted off of ebay, and with the upcoming announcement of Froyo, I was wondering whether having a rooted n1 would force me to wait for a dev to give me 2.2, instead of being able to get it OTA straight from google?

you won't be able to receive the OTA update as rooting involved installing a custom recovery image; however, you shouldn't worry about it as Froyo, once leaked, will be made available as an zip format or with the custom roms very quickly

Untrue. If the phone is rooted, but has the standard Nexus One ROM, he will get 2.2 just like any normal Nexus One. He will only not receive the OTA update if it has a custom rom like cyanogen.
