This is sorta a random question.

There is a bug in the stock OS on the Atrix 4G, that is a common one amongst older builds of Android.

Basically, the issue is that any contacts listed on the phone are listed by the contact name that comes alphabetically last. This ends up being a problem when, say, you have a contact linked to their twitter account which is "zzyzx." This is how they are listed on the phone, and the only name that is recognized by (for instance) voice dialing.

According to the bug post I linked to above, this is an issue that has been resolved in Android builds a while back, but that non-pure Android firmware (such as the stock firmware on the Atrix 4G) still have the bug.

So, I'm wondering: if I root my Atrix 4G, will I be able to install a firmware that would fix this? Would Gingerblur fix it? Are there other options than Gingerblur that I can use?

Forgive me - I'm pretty new to all of this.

I am pretty sure that you are SOL until Gingerbread comes out.
