Will the HTC Desire 816 ever receive Marshmallow?

I'm using Virgin Mobile. HTC promised the update in Q1 of this year. I asked them about it on Twitter a few weeks ago and they said they didn't have any information on the update. I've heard it's rolled out in Saudi Arabia, but has it come to the States? Is anyone with Sprint/Virgin currently using it?

It's not going to be released as far as I can see. VM USA's website removed their listing of the 816 a long time ago, meaning that their continued support of this device has dropped.

You usually get 1 year's updates guaranteed for a Desire, 2 years for a flagship. If there's a carrier involved it may be worse than that.
