Why do i need Windows PC to upgrade my LINUX phone? Its unbelievable
Most phones have PC Suites for managing updates, files, photos, and the like ....
Check Nokia, SE, BB, iPhone ... so why the big surprise that the Android shouldn't have similar capibilities ...
NOT all is OTA no should it be IMHO
Yes, im asking why dont we have both? Linux and Windows software, its Linux phone after all...
Presumably because HTC don't think there's a demand. If enough users complain and request it though, they may change their mind.
There is SDK for Linux as well .... Many people use the ADB and fastboot programs on both Win & Linux ... I know I have.
Maybe ironic. But hardly unbelievable. A very small (tiny) % of users have a linux system at work and/or at home. They build for the client base.
It's not really a Linux phone. If anything, it's a Java phone.
Android runs in a Java VM, Linux is just there to host the VM, it might be any os underneath there.
Having said that - heck yeah, I hate having all these not-Windows-related devices being dependent on Windows after all!
Yes it is, Android OS is 100% Linux. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_(operating_system))
