    I'm on CWM 5.0.2.7
whenever i wipe Dalvik cache, before i arrow down to the Yes - Wipe option I see the following error in the white text towards the bottom of the screen:

    E:unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]

    I've never noticed this before.
I assume this relates to external sd, but not sure why it wants to try to access it here?

Nope, /sd-ext is the mount point for Linux EXT-type partitions used with Apps2SD. It was a clever gludge from before Android supported moving apps natively; supported ROMs moved all installed apps to this new partition and symlinked them back to /data/app, so tricking the OS. Subsequent installations went to this partition also.

The error is perfectly normal on devices with no EXT partition and is simply a result of the CWM code supporting a huge range of devices.
