What is that sticky post about ? How many of us have wiped our phones and NOT lost 3G ? It would be one thing if that post said you "might" lose it, but it says you "will" lose 3G. Soooo not true. Fact is, I did it to my phone yesterday... Twice... Guess what I still have ?

I'm rooted and wiped today and nothing happened.. I'm pretty sure it is for stock 2.1 phones

I'm back on stock 2.1, did a reset an hour ago and no problems, although I hoped there would be so I could go in, complain, and maybe get a Droid to replace it

I have seen a fair amount of debate about how accurate the rumor is. Since I saw the rumor, I personally have wiped my phone 4 times to install a different ROM and never once lost 3G.

Also, I found the rumor somewhat amusing because it said the only Verizon phone that was "Safe" was the Motorola Devour which in my opinion is an utter piece of crap. EVERY person I know that has a Devour absolutely hates cuz the phones have numerous and repeated hardware failures. Thus I find it suspicious that it's the one "safe" phone. Sounds almost as though someones trying to dump all the Devours they can,,

i did a factory reset during a call to tech support as a last resort and it wiped out my 3g. after that the guy said well now i will defenitely send a replacement.

It's a shame it's locked, but that seems to be some's standard practice. People could respond that they're not having any issues...

I think it's bullshit, I have wiped my DInc many times since this started floating around and people are saying this over in the DINc forums too.
