Wiping Phone to Update Modaco ROM/Apps2sd Question

Hi everyone! Hope everyone's ok and enjoying your super-hero!

Just a quick question regarding adding a new ROM...

Basically I'm on Modaco's 2.5.1 at the moment and have been running apps on the SD card without no problems. I was wondering whether there is a difference or advantage in either wiping the phone or just updating using update.zip? which do you lovely people prefer to do?

Also once updated to the new ROM would my apps re-appear as they are on the Ext2 partition of my SD?

You shouldn't need to wipe coming from such a recent version and yes, your apps will show up the same - just allow a while longer for the first boot.

A wipe is only usually advised as necessary when either moving from one major revision to another e.g. 1.76.xxx.x to 2.73.xxx.x, or when changing to a different custom ROM. Unless the instructions say different, of course.
