Dang! I used the leak so I couldn't root and possibly mess up my phone. Wish I didn't know my self so well. Oh well I got faith in the devs working on rooting the leaks. When that happens I will no longer have the security measures I set for myself. More than likely I will root then brick my phone 24 hrs after root is found. Boy I can't wait lol!!!
Start with rooting. Then you can do wireless tether so your Xbox can get online off of your phones internet
do they have a step by step on XDA about this. Haven't seen anything around here.
just to the xbox. I guess I was asking is it just like tethering to the computer. I was being lazy and a bit sleep deprived I guess![]()
Yeah, I have wireless at my house. I want to use my phone as a way for my Xbox to get on live I don't know if this is the same thing as tether because I'm just learning all this new lingo.
Okay to clear up some confusion, there is and adapter that you can buy for 99 dollars that will allow your xbox to connect to wireless internet. I have a wireless modem but i do not have the reciever for my xbox. I would like to use my phone for this and not have to buy the 99 dollar reciever. So to do this I need to root and tether? Or were you guys thinking of something different. Also there are some apps that let you connect to your account and I have these. I use spark and xbox avatar widget. P.S. Thanks for all the help and putting up with my ignorance.
LOL I don't sound so dumb after all do I cableguy? LOL
What if someone could make an app that would allow the phone to trick the xbox into thinking that an android phone was that spendy 99 dollar wifi adapter? I think we're looking for a USB tether for Xbox, which would function as a COMPATIBLE wifi dongle.
Isn't it possible to get the Xbox wifi dongle to work on a linux machine? I remember reading about that somewhere. Just can't remember where at the moment...And I'm not sure if it helps any, but the Xbox 360 has been able to run linux before. I'm not an expert with drivers or anything, but if you have access to the Xbox through linux, wouldn't you be able to look at the driver that the Xbox uses with the wifi dongle and maybe work from there as a start? I mean, wifi is a feature that should have been included with the 360 IMO, and it sucks that Microsoft charges an extra hundred dollars just to have it. Especially when you compare that price to one you can get for your pc, which will be compatible with any pc you plug it into.
