Root wireless teather

I htc evo 4g rooted and was wondering why for some reason i can use it on just about all sites on my labtop but when I try to go onto my school site it works I start doing some homework and after about 2 to 3 min it will say its not working now..... Is there another app out there thats better? I use the wireless teather
