Wireless Tether for Root Users (Infrastructure Mode)

What phones out there allow for the usage of Infrastructure? Preferably using Wireless Tether for Root Users or another tethering program that's usage will not count against your mobile internet plan.

In the description of the app it only notes this:

Wifi-tethering creates a so called adhoc (peer-to-peer) network on most devices. Infrastructure-mode is suppported for some devices

I'm an EVO user so I know that app and know it works on my phone but I'm not exactly sure what you mean by infastructure mode. Can you elaborate on what it is and what it does?

Well, I'm not even 100% sure. From what I understand Ad-Hoc only allows you to connect your phone to another internet enabled device (namely a PC). Infrastructure mode makes an actual hotspot in which PCs, laptops, etc. (and of course the device itself) can use.
