I have a new Samsung S7 that has been working well for a week. This morning it offered a software update which I completed. Now, when I press the lock button it does not lock. It seems to sleep the screen (goes black) but does not require a swipe across to unlock to bring up the home screen when I touch any buttons to use it again. Why? Am I alone?

Is it paired to anything with the bluetooth? It may have added it as a trusted device and won't require unlocking if it's nearby.

Appreciate the idea but bluetooth is off and I haven't added any trusted devices. But you did give me an idea to check about this setting refering to trusted locations. Thanks!

The update defaulted all of your settings back to Factory OEM values.

I just went thru that last night to fix a problem in my phone.

I would not worry about it, just go thru the motions and put it back like it was.
