Ok, so I just got my Huawei and I have a question. To bring it out of sleep, I have to push a button on the bottom, then swipe to unlock. Is it possible to bring it out of sleep by swiping or making some swipe gesture instead of pushing a button?

Nope, the screen is disabled when the phone is sleeping.

No you have to push a button to get the screen to swipe your password.

I pressed the Menu key twice to see what would happen. The swipe lock asked me what I thought I was doing, and told me to stop abusing the Menu button for no reason.

Yes, press Menu key while in a homescreen, press Setting>Location & Security>Set Unlock Pattern.
