Won't open files

Despite having installed LO Viewer, I can't get it to open an odt file.
If I use explorer to find and click on an odt file, I'm told I don't have an App to open it.

So apparently LO viewer doesn't do what it should.
Follow the instructions and install an app from the play store as stated

Thanks for replying.
I uninstalled LO and tried Open Office. I still get the same error message when clicking on the odt file.

If I open either App, I find it impossible to navigate to my SD card to get to the file, in order to try opening it that way.

Try opening from a file manager instead

The odt file was created using LO on my PC.
I copied it onto my Samsung mobile.

The ONLY way I can open it on my Samsung is by opening Word, then in Word navigate to the file.

However, File Manager still insists I do not have an App to open it with, even though Word will open it.

I also have an ods file copied from PC to mobile which shows the same error message.

Is it perhaps an Android problem I wonder?

Install a different file manager from the play store and see if that opens the file.

The file manager is a Samsung one. I wouldn't really want to start changing that, it opens evrything else fine.

It's all getting rather involved for me. I think it's better to accept I can't open these files on Android.

Give Google Docs a try. It seems to open anything....
