    Hello all,

I've yet to find a resource that has been able to resolve this request for me yet. My company has webmail which my previous company did as well. I would like to use this to link my phones email option to the webmail server particularly to sync my calendar as well as check in to see what the next business day may bring. I've searched the web but the postings I have found have yet to work. I was able to complete this with my last gig but at my current its been difficult to say the least.

Galaxy Note 2 user running on Jelly Bean 4.1.2

    Regards,

    Hollando

What problem do you encounter by adding it to the email app? Can it be added via an MS Exchange service/account?

    Welcome to Android Forums, Hollando.

Do you know what type of server your company is running? The email app is a POP/IMAP client so you'll need to be able to log into your email that way for it to work. If they are running an Exchange server you may have additional security protocols that are preventing you from logging in which would have to be taken up with the IT dept. Give us a little more information and we'll see if we can get you sync'ed.

Thank you for getting back to me so soon everyone!

Exchange server. I spoke to the IT team and although there protocols that would prevent me from logging directly into the server, there should be a way around this by simply using the webmail URL webmailwest.mycomp.com/owa.

Which version of Exchange server? They significantly change the webmail protocols in almost every version, breaking every client. I guess it was WebDAV in Exchange 2003, then RPC over HTTP in Exchange 2007, then Exchange Web Services in Exchange 2010.

Anyway, it sounds like you've got it under control now.

Unfortunately no. My post was based off a similar tactic I used at my last gig. It's funny all I want is to link my calendar to my phone.

Would you be averse to doing it a different way? There are plugins for Outlook to connect it to your Google calendar.

If you can't install stuff on the computer that's running Outlook (and you certainly can't install stuff on the Exchange server!) then I'm running out of ideas. Take a look:
    https://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=33322

I think your options may be to look for either an Exchange calendar app or a 3rd party service that can synchronize your Exchange account's calendar with your Google calendar. I suppose you could acquire and install Outlook on your own PC and use the connector. Otherwise you have to ask for your IT department to support Android connectivity.

Just to review...are your server settings correct? They might look something like:
    • Domain\Username: mycompemployees\hollando
    • Password: yourpassword
    • Server: webmailwest.mycomp.com (probably NOT including the /owa)
    • Use secure connection SSL): [checked]
    • Accept all SSL certificates: [checked]
...then when you get the warning "The server webmailwest.mycomp.com requires that you allow it to remotely control some security features of your phone. Do you wish to finish setting up this account?" you tap OK.
