Well, I was a dedicated full-time hardcore raider upon WoW's release on one of the United States' best guilds. I'm a very firm believer in the fact that Burning Crusade expansion destroyed WoW. Granted, I am only one person but I know plenty of others that share the same sentiment on the issue.

How could they divide 40 man raids into 20 man? That completely ruined the entire raid experience for me. On top of that, they rewarded casual players with superior gear that's in comparison with the armor/weapons that I worked my ass off to receive!? No thanks. Blizzard could kiss my ass and not receive my monthy payments.

In response to this I would like to say that even 20 man raids put alot of strain on peoples internet connections that a 40 man raid would have done before BC. And the fact of the matter is not everyone is a hardcore raider and they want to have good gear as well so blizzard needed to make it easier for people to get geared up. However I would say in WOTLK it has been taken too far, Full T9 from heroics is ridiculous

So, you say reward the complainers b/c they couldn't dedicate the time? I think that's bullshit. I don't want to sound elitist but screw the whiners. WoW wasn't designed for casual players. They made the game work for those who could only play casually by adding smaller dungeons and etc..

All I know is I quit when BC came out and I never will play another P2P MMORPG again.

Never thought I would say I'd see a member from one of my most respected guilds back in the days I did play as well. I sit on same opinion there, they made WoW into a welfare mmo. One my mates still played and he said he used a good 2 weeks on hcs + minor easy raids to get the last tier set from scratch. Which even kills more for me, I mean - I sure dont have time anymore and that I also have a special person in life, I dont want to risk it. Which leaves me to say, WoW changes from one of the top mmo's to coward game. Before it did take skill and it did take time to gear up, but now you get it thrown after you which takes out the pleasure of completing things. All you do is basically, kiss and tell the whole game.

But I still hold WoW in good regards, I have some friends I would never get if it wasn't for that game, but oh boy I could have lost so many things because of that game as well.

Mate I know your saying that it doesn't take any skill to gear up at the minute and that is the case however no matter how good your gear is you could still never down the lich king because gear isnt everything, you actually have to be a good player aswell.

I used to play WoW off and on for a couple of years (Alliance priest) and kept getting bored of it because the end game was basically... raids, raids, raids, raids, raids, raids to me to keep getting higher tier armor. I felt like it really wasn't worth it just starting now and having to devote months and months and months and months and months and months and months aaaaaand... months to this GAME. Once I entered college, I played it sparingly and just couldn't keep up with the top people in my guild anymore. I couldn't devote going on at a certain time to go on a guild raid and such because of intense studying. Education > Any Game for me. Don't get me wrong, WoW is a good online game and I guess the best (don't know of any that can really compare to it). There are many positives and negatives. My biggest negative was that it was geared towards hardcore gamers and basically shunned casual gamers because of the amount of dedication it needed. I highly regret spending countless hours in a virtual world while the only life I will have is passing by. It really became addicting to me. I wouldn't hang out with friends and such because I wanted to spend more time in the game. I guess that's also a warning to you, hehe.
