Help Would I lose the unlock after updating?

I recently bought an unlocked Captivate on eBay but I

If the phone does, in fact, re-lock you have an available process that will provide you with the unlock code. See Unlock - CapFAQ for further information.

Samsung's customer service has just answered my email but the response was ambiguous (more like

"Thank you for your inquiry and taking the time to inform us about this issue concerning your phone. We are unable to speculate if the phone's current settings will retain upon upgrading to Android 2.2, since there is no information yet about the enhancements of the said upgrade".

Well, finally I updated the firmware (from JF6 to JH7) on my unlocked Captivate and it remained that way after the process, I just had to reinitiate the phone and my network was recognized without problems
