No need to root. I have the K760 and it works perfectly with my Nexus as is. I picked up a nice little folding plastic stand at Gamestop for something like 5 dollars, which holds the Nexus nicely, and badda-boom, great little set up for long form typing when the need arises -- very light for travel as well.
