no factory reset keeps root.. you must do the RUU method to unroot

Doesn't the RUU method also do a factory reset? Basically, the only way to unroot will also delete your apps and data?

Doing a factory reset keeps root? but wipes everything else off? Interesting,

I assume it leaves the clockwork recovery alone too, and so unrooting via the ruu actually gives you stock recovery and everything

    Factory reset does one thing:

    It wipes /data.

    It does not touch /system.

this is good to know. i rooted my phone maybe a week ago but i've been thinking about doing a factory reset and then making a nandroid backup right afterwards to have a completely stock backup. would that be right in that it would be completely stock except for the recovery and the root?
