write to a group in People app

[Android Question]

My contacts includes several groups (email lists). But there seems to be no way to start a message from within People, and no email client sees a group name when typed to the To:, CC: or BCC:. How do I work around this?
This is in HiSense Sero 7 pro.

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.

I'm not familiar with your device, but on my HTC One the Gmail app certainly does not allow selection of groups but my stock mail app has the standard contacts icon ie 'head & shoulders', next to the 'To' box. Tapping this opens my contacts where I can select one of my groups which then populates the 'To' box.

By adding my Gmail account to my stock mail app I can send a group mail via Gmail when necessary. If your stock mail app doesn't have the contacts icon there is an app in Play Store which should add this function to Gmail :-
