My X10 has been charging over night, then it stops at 93% in the mornings... I have to unplug the charger, and the put it back in to get to 100% charge...
It's been happening everyday for 3 days now... Starting to worry me...
9 hours of charge not enough?:S

The usb port in my Xperia stopped working properly, it kept stopping the charge, so I called up T-Mobile and they're sendin me a new one on tuesday.

So maybe you should give your provider a call :)

The phones have a smart charge function. When the charge reaches 100% they stop charging until the charge level falls below a certain point (from experience and others comments in the low to mid 90's) then the phone will start charging again back up to 100% and go through the same cycle. It stops the battery overcharging and getting damaged.

Having said that, if your phone is never on 100% when you disconnect it in the mornings it could be that you have a problem, but if it is anything between 93% and 100% I'd say thats normal. You have found yourself the thing to do, unplug and replug whilst you go and get your morning shower... it'll be 100% by time you are eating breakfast!

My phone was always at 100% in the morning until i swapped the cable from the original to a 15ft. Now it's usually at around 93%.

Ahh right, Then will it be the cable i'm using? Because I have lost my original one, and i'm using my old phones USB cable, a Nokia 5800 one... So maybe that caused the problem?

It could well be, I have read other threads about how sensitive the phone is to both the charger and cable. I gave myself a heart attack cos I thought I had been hit with the dreaded dead usb socket but all I had done is plug my phone into my son's LG charger which my phone clearly didn't like. They ought to colour co-ordinate the chargers for blind old gals like me.... they are all black plugs with a black usb leads, very confusing:rolleyes:

before, i didn't like their USB charger... SO i went to ebay to buy a normal Mains charger...
It worked well for a week...
    then it just stopped charging..
it might be the phone doesn't like it? or... the charger?
    ps.. The charger costs

I raised a question on the a few days back, not sure it got picked up.

Im using my SE MW600 headset charger to charge the phone and my Old Nokia N86 data cable works as well.

As yet not noticed any probs with using these. Hope i dont fry it!

Rosered is correct regarding the "Smart Charge" function. The way to find out is to charge the phone via the "WALL CHARGER" and watch the charging light (Front LED), when you see the light go OFF, pull the plug from the phone and check your charge level via the Settings > About > Battery Charge. At this time it should read 100%. I say to check it this way vs an app or some other item, because they did not come in the phone as a default. For absolute correct readings, always use your phones built in options first...

Also, stay away from the computer USB for "ONLY Charging". It takes a lot longer in this fashion and you will see a lot more low %'s. Also, ensure your phone is "OFF" when you do your charge as a phone that is on is basically getting a trickle charge, becuase the phone is eating up the charge as it comes into the phone.

Just my 2 cents worth... Good Luck!

That would most likely be your problem. My previous phone was a Nokia 5800 and the USB from my Nokia, doesn't agree with my Xperia. Also my girlfriend has a blackberry which uses a similar charger to the Xperia, and her charger wouldn't agree with my Xperia either. So try using the original Xperia cable, if you can get hold of one.

There was a demand made that all mobile phones should have the same charger within a certain date but so far it's been a big joke.

Have you got a source for this? Sounds interesting :)

EDIT: Nevermind found it myself :) http://www.uswitch.com/news/communi...ones-to-use-same-chargers-from-2011-19916167/

Starts 2011 apparently, would make things alot easier :)

I can't see Apple contributing to this tho, as their 10 pin connector is not just used for charging, but also used for audio out for docking stations on stereos etc

its not fully charging, i havent seen a green light for weeks.
all these started after i did the upgrade in the os.
any ideas of what it might be?

Mine too does not show 100% when left over night, but if I charge it during the day when at my desk and I can keep and eye on it, then it goes up to 100%. I would think its nothing to worry about.

It's exactly what RoseRed described above... The phone is likely charging just fine up to 100% overnight. Once it's charged, it begins to trickle down. When it reaches a specific point, it starts the charging cycle again.

I pulled mine off the charger this morning and it was at an all time low of 91%. I'm not too concerned because it will still last me until the end of the day. Just be mindful of when you go to take it off the charger... If you care about that extra 5%, leave it on for an extra bit.
