    Phone: Xperia M4 Aqua
    Model number: E2303
    Android version: 5.0

Hello, I am writing this on these forums searching for a solution, as said on the title my phone got infected by installing applications from unknown sources (Developer options and USB debugging are on).

The phone isn't rooted, there is no SIM card inserted right now, SD card is also removed.

    The virus doesn't allow:
-to change ANY settings in the Settings menu (You change the setting and it reverts to previous state once you re-enter the menu)
-install any applications (Cannot press install button at all, no highlight or anything)
-turn off or restart phone (When power off or restart button is pressed nothing happens, when changing SIM card it doesn't restart either, when power button is held nothing happens)
-factory reset phone (Automatically exits menu)
-run any apps in the background
-it also doesn't appear in the apps menu, it however has a tray in the upper menu (See screenshot taken with MyPhoneExplorer)

Thank you for your replies and help... I hope there is something that can be done to fix this, the phone was bought on december 2015 and was working properly until yesterday. I also searched the internet for any antivirus program that can scan android phones over PC but found none. I know I was foolish and I've learned my lesson but please help me...

Any of these actions require powering off the phone... Which means I'll have to drain the battery to turn it off... It'll take a while

You are really saying that if you press and hold the power button (for 20 seconds or so) nothing happens? I'm amazed if some piece of malware is able to subvert that. I take it it's the blank card you are referring to in your screenshot?

If you are really unable to reboot, but have USB debugging enabled, you can reboot from that using ADB. The command "adb reboot" will reboot the device, while the commands "adb reboot bootloader/recovery/fastboot" will boot it into bootloader, recovery or fastboot modes respectively (you should be able to reset from recovery).

Yeah, it won't turn off while holding the power button as stated above.
I'll try that as well, thank you.

Okay, I've managed to shutdown my phone using adb -but wait, the virus didn't start with the phone! I'm able to access the Factory Reset menu again!
