Xperia Play Black screen Problems

Hello There,
I have an Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and a few months ago the screen went all strange, every now and again the touch screen would not respond and then it gave up and i could not do anything with it, I have put a new Touch flex cable and the touch did not work but the screen came on then I put a new Slide flex cable in and now the screen does not turn on, it vibrates so it turns on but nothing else happens.
Can Anyone Help
