If your SI isn't on a list you can change it after rooting your phone :) Done it recently and I can approve it works ! :)

Boring word of warning, doing so may invalidate your warranty if the phone needs to go in for repair at any time.

Yeah I know you guys probably know that already, but someone has to say it for those that don't.:D

z4root v1.3.0 (freeware) - z4root is a one click solution to root and un-root your device. Works for many Android devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy S, Droid 2, Xperia, and more. Does not work for NAND locked devices, such as the HTC Desire or Evo.

    Recent changes:
Force unroot option: If you previously tried to root and are now stuck with a non-working superuser app, this option will remove it for you.

Temporary root option: If your device cannot support a permanent root (NAND locked, Older RFS) then this option will allow you to temporary root your device until the next reboot.

Have any1 tried this app ? Cant get to market now so i can't try it myself :(

You need to connect your phone with the sony ericsson update service in your computer, after you install it from the sony ericsson website. This will connect with your phone and will check if there are any updates for your phone.

    Are you Greek?!

If your phone is branded you will have to wait for carrier testing and approval. I have the X10 too and only got the update on that on Saturday due to being branded to T-Mobile UK whilst all the generic / Indian / Nordic folk were getting theirs so I know what it's like to wait.

Well, you could root it, install this and wait for the official 2.1 update in your region, then install the new one, then unroot it when it's available for 2.1.

Thinking of doing this on the Mrs. phone now.
