Tried and OK for me? Also you can scroll it up. In fact, how things are rendered is not managed by app. It is done by the underlying web engine.

    2/11 New updates:

    1. Enable embedded video previewing
    2. Download prompt for user to choose (I checked megaupload, what happened is that if the server is not busy, I can always download successfully. If busy, I just downloaded a 1k file. I renamed that file and opened to view, it says "exceeded max downloads for regular users. try again later". So it is a message)
    3. Accurate tab recycling
    4. Javascript popup window (such as login and google news)
    5. Number of favorites for paid version expaned to 50.
    6. Import global bookmarks, export to there (as a bookmark backup facility), and save current favorites to sdcard ( /sdcard/xScope/xSopeBookmarks.html))
    Thanks

xScope, are you ever going to release a version on the Market for Android 1.5 users? Even if it is without multitouch? And btw, have you been able to figure out multitouch for Hero devices?

This latest update will help a lot! Sure, the only thing I really saw change (I'm sure there was a lot behind the scenes) was the themes but like I've mentioned, I really believe that will bring in the "dumber" crowd. Not saying they're actually "dumb", just giving a name to the people who care about looks over substance. I've really enjoyed watching you develop this app!

And I remember Droiiiid (I might have got the number of 'i's wrong... lol) saying somewhere that your zoom method is worth patenting and I agree. Seriously. I don't want another browser (aka Dolphin) stealing some of this awesomeness!

(Someday I WILL marry xScope. FYI.)

Just a heads up - put a .nomedia file in each of the themes directories so all the images don't show up in your gallery.

Thanks for the tip, shrink57~. It is implemented in the latest update for the theme app :)

I am bumping my head. No time now. I actually bought a G1 just for testing 1.5 users!

    Mr X! Great work, sir.

Now we need someone big somewhere to mention this thing on their blog!

Hello, would it be possible to add support more than http downloads. When i go to my school portal (blackboard) i try to download a document that my teacher has posted but says that only http downloads are supported. I tried with dolphin browser and it will download it but i prefer xscope. Implementation would be greatly appreciated. Thank You :)

xScope...I realize that this may not be a popular stance on this forum, but participants on this forum are only a subset of your overall user base, and I contend that they don't represent the majority.

I think your browser is outstanding. It is my primary browser on my Droid, and I recommend it highly to any new Droid user that I run into.

Those that have taken my advice and downloaded xScope are now complaining about what feels to them (and me) to be an excessive number of updates and downloads to the browser. There is no other app that I use that releases mods anywhere near as often as you do. It's getting to be too much.

My 2 cents is that you continue to improve the browser, but package the enhancements into a single monthly build. Unless there is a significant bug that you need to fix, I just don't think most people need or want multiple download updates per week.

If you don't want the updates but once a month, just don't download them. The vast majority of us DO want the updates.

I agree 100% If an annoying bug or enhancement is found, why wait? That is why xScope has progressed so far in such a short period of time. The developers responsiveness encourages more interaction, recommendations, leading to new innovations. If it meant reformatting drives, hours of transferring data, and paying for new services with each upgrade I can see the point of waiting. But for a minute or 2 investment required download and install, I look forward to the surprises when I log into the market. Keep up the great work xScope!!!

I am... a guy. Does this ruin our chances? :p

But as far as the current discussion goes, updates rock. Literally, twice a day I check to see if there are updates for my apps. It's like Christmas all over again. The only thing that I don't like is when an app gets updated but they never say what got fixed/improved. How am I supposed to know what I got for Christmas?! It's like getting a present... but not being able to open it. Or, another metaphor could be: I have found my life partner, xScope, but he'll never come to appreciate me for what I'm worth. Sad day. Dark times.

A quick idea that I think would be very helpful. Changing the names in the marketplace. I'm not sure how all this works but I know that developers have the capability to make it so that an app only appears for the correct version of Android. So I'd recommend doing that first. Then, come up with a more uniform name for all of them. The slight variations of the name, one of them including the '_' at the end just really seems to make it look confusing and somewhat odd (looking at it from a user's point of view).

I'm sure I didn't come up with the best solutions for the naming problem but I'm confident that it needs to be redone. There's just too many "xScopes..." on there where the name is so long you can't really see what the difference is, etc. Maybe something like "xScope Web Browser (2.0+)" or "xScope Browser 2.0+", etc. Something short and allows you to have different names without confusing it with all the slight variations in the names.

I really hope xScope comes out for version 1.5! It sounds great, wish I could enjoy it :( I'm stuck with the stock browser and I dont want dolphin because of all the horrible comments on its recent update.

did a search , couldn't find, so here goes. Is there a way to import favorites from my pc? I have lots of good links that I would love to get over to my droid wiwthout having to type each one (you can already see my typing isn't so great on a regular pc;-)

LOL. Try this (I haven't tried though)
On market, find 'MyBookmarks' and install it.
Import all your IE, Firefox, or Chrome's bookmars with it.
Then in xScope, Retrieve Global Bookmarks :)

Is anyone else having the problem of the Themes showing up in the gallery. I checked and the .nomedia file is there but the themes still show up in the gallery. Am I doing something wrong?

    1.6 is released.
The difference between 1.5 and 1.6 is still big. So I will need more time.
    Thanks

    Thanks Steve.
Market highly favorites keywords in title for search. So I will have to put them there sadly. Thanks for the suggestions.
