105mb is not so normal. But it dependent on websites you are visiting. It caches your visited web for quite BACK and FORWARD without reloading. currently you can store up to 24 webpages for each tab. So if you have lots of graphics intensive websites, it is very possible.

Version 6 is really geared toward higher end phones, which usually have a chunk of memory available for use. Please note that the cached the content will not consume any CPU power and no negative impact on battery (reloading does actually).

Is there a performance difference between the trial and paid version of 6?

Doubtful of that. Didn't the dev say it was a pretty major rewrite?

That is the dev, so you probably won't find a more authoritative source ;)

Lol. Oops. Sometimes when replying on a phone it's hard to see the whole picture. Still though, if it's a major rewrite, it'd really be tough to say speed its the same. Maybe similar our in same range, but I guys that's just semantics.

XScope is working great for me.

Is it possible to allow more options for the volume button, like switching between tabs?

    Gary,

When you replaced the tab bars at the top with the floating/transparent menu bar at the bottom, you created a really frustrating situation for those of us who like to switch tabs a lot. Now that the menu (which must be displayed when using the tab picker to switch tabs or close tabs) floats over the content at the bottom of the screen, I can't click on any link in the very bottom of the screen without hitting the menu button to hide the menu. When the screen isn't fully-scrolled, I just scroll down and the links move above the menu and everything is fine, but when they're at the bottom of the page itself (Google's next page links, for example), I don't have that choice. So I end up showing and hiding and showing and hiding and showing the menu, needlessly.

There are probably several ways the problem could be fixed, but the simplest seems to be allowing the content to scroll up past the end of the page when the menu is shown. I'm not sure how best to implement it in the webkit APIs, but one simple hack would be to add some blanks space at the bottom of the page when the menu is displayed and remove it when it's hidden...

Anything you can do to address the problem would be great!

    Thanks for your hard work!
    Tim

Maybe the first theme could be a "simple" one: I liked that Chrome-like "plain blue" look at early xScopes had.

Theme support is not release yet for xScope 6.
Also, since it has totally different design now, your theme needs to be upgraded too. Please, after theme support is added, send email to theme developer and ask if he can upgrade too.

If you have a non-HTC phone, you just long click image and it will pop up save option.
HTC phones some how don't offer this standard android behavior for xScope browser. Still doing research

I have the HTC EVO, I'm running XScope 6.15 licensed. I am unable to save images. The "long click" does not bring up an menu. I did uninstall/reinstall. I possibly missed a special instruction for this, can anyone help me out?

    Thanks

For some reason, xscope (v6) "lags" on my phone (samsung galaxy s i9000). The homescreen with the bookmarks is slow and whenever I go to a website, it will do nothing for a few seconds and then go to the website. The default android browser has no lag and immediately starts loading the website.

Sorry. If this still persist, please send us an email, xScopebrowser@gmail.com for a refund. Theoretically, xScope and stock browser share same webkit and it is purely webkit's job to respond clicks. I can't figure out what's the reason for your phone's strange behavior.

Just curious if v6 has the following capabilities added back into it yet? I find them essential in the old v5 and would LOVE to finally update to v6!

    1. The ability to hide the tabs, UNLESS there is more than one (then the tabs always appear at the top until you get back down to a single tab again). I remember that this option was in the settings for v6, but it didn't work. Does it work now?

    2. The Quit option brought into the main choice of options, rather than buried a couple selections deep.

    3. The ability to separately access the bottom bar by hitting the menu button, and the top address and notification bars by swiping down/up.

    4. Clicking a tab closes that tab

    5. Clicking the address to access the address. Rather than popping up an option to either access the address or open the page options, which is redundant because clicking the star next to the address opens the page options.

    6. Pinch-Zoom without opening links.
