I am trying to play low-res Xvid videos (480p TV episodes at 350MB each) on my new Acer Iconia tablet, and the videos will not play without stuttering. These videos play fine on the Wii and my ancient Xbox 1. I have tried two different players. The one that came with the tablet (forgot its name) would not even recognize the avi files that I copied in the Videos folder. The second one from the Android market, called yxplayer, did recognize the files but played them with lots of stuttering. Is the Iconia hardware to slow to decode these properly? Will Xoom or another tablet do a better job? I would hate to go the transcoding route, but if that's the only option to watch stutter-free video, I guess I'll consider it.
