Yahoo E-Mail on Android Platform

I have a Samsung SG III with Android operating system. My e-mail is provided by Yahoo Biz Mail. When my phone is on my Yahoo e-mail comes into my mail box as "read". When the phone is off my new messages come in as "unread". Anybody ever seen this problem. My carrier is Cbyond. Cbyond suggested that I download a Yahoo mail application from the Android web site. I can't find any such application at the Android web site.

"Android website?" I'm wondering if the carrier rep meant the Google Play Store, which has https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.yahoo.mobile.client.android.mail&hl=en among others.
