Last year I bought my first ever smart phone. Bricked it in the first month so bad that by the next month of messing with it I had managed to get it so it couldn't even be recognized by my PC, even in emergency mode (normally you get a looping message to plug into a different USB port to improve speed if it is recognized).

Thanks to this Guide: Unbricking Your Optimus V - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
I was able to get the phone back to life. This zero'd out my MSL/SPC , MEID, ESN, and lost my AAA code, but with the help of all the Guides that WakeUpC22 compiled I have managed to restore everything but the AAA (phones not activated, so I don't think AAA password will show until it is).

I already have One good functioning activated phone so I'll wait to activate this one until the one that is currently activated dies.
    Thanks to all these people:

And the Devs of these Utility Programs:
    DFS 3.1.0.1
    CdmaDevTermV.2
LGNPST (Used the one with the General_v1.2_Lab_version)

I can now use the market to download apps instead of having to pull them off of one of the other good V's (purchased a used one last month as a spare) and installing them using ADB

Thanks again to all who helped in this project.
PS: Using DFS version 3.1.0.1 and following assadulah's hint in his AAA code video I was able to write my MEID to the phone and have it stick. It didn't look like it did right at first because it wasn't showing in the settings. Went back to LGNPST to try again and it showed my MEID insted of all zero's. Rebooted phone and there it was in the settings.

Apparently I did. I'm sorry, but I have a bad memory. xD Short term memory loss sucks.

Don't feel bad.. I suffer from CRS due to age (although I contribute a lot of it to having kids, and an X-husband at 52 still in his terrible twos). ;)

If you didn't have the AAA and HA keys you likely never will be able to have data again... 1x at best if you put in the HA key... It's vmug33k for everyone

You wrote a tutorial posted here:
Fix V data for ZVD/ZVJ - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
The part about Anycut was very useful. Didn't even know of it's existence until I saw your Tutorial. Will probably need the rest of your Tutorial when it comes time to activate it. Might be quite a while down the road though.

I have the HA, will worry about the AAA when it comes time to activate it, if ever (I'm using it as dedicated MP3 player so I don't wear my good phone out to fast).

This brings about a very good idea and one that should be addressed.

When anybody roots their phone the potential to brick their phone badly enough to require flashing the S firmware to fix it (causing their AAA, MEID,to be zeroed out) is every present.

I think that assadulah's Tutorial on how to obtain the AAA, and HA password keys should be included into the All Things Root Guide sticky.

Every member that helps someone Root their phone should point them to that Tutorial as something they should do after rooting.
This is just as important as making that first backup in the custom recovery.

This guide is exactly the same as my first unbrick guide, it just uses the OS bin instead of the OV bin.....I have the OV bin.....

Is that the Guide you had me take out of the ATR Guide sticky? I totally forgot about that one till.........you mentioned it. It has an OV bin? If it has an OV bin then it wouldn't zero everything out right? That would be the one that I needed to use. Duh! (kick self in butt)

So I zero'd out everything when I didn't need to?
We need to get that guide back into the sticky.

EDIT: I looked at your guides old and new and couldn't find any reference to a .bin
I only found .cab and .kdz
A VM.bin and VM.dll are the key to not zeroing the AAA and MEID when using the LGNPST to flash in emergency mode. The LGNPST version 1.2 is the only way that worked for my brick which couldn't be seen by my PC.
If we can come up with a proper VM.bin then all that other stuff I've had to do (and can't do) won't be necessary.
It will also mean that there is no V that is really bricked as long as you can get it into emergency mode (I had to use the Super Secret method to get into e-mode, but you have to let your battery totally drain).

The KP500 guide WAS the LGNPST method. The OV bin DOES zero out MEID and everything including the AAA/HA key. LGNPST is a last method resort and should only be used if all else fails. Every BIN WILL zero out an LG phone no matter what DLL is used, no matter what phone it is, no matter what BIN it is. My guide was not removed from the stikies, it was Phatninja's.

OK, I used that guide and it didn't work on my brick.

I tried your KDZ first, then the KP500. No Go on both.
The guide I linked to was the only thing that worked for my brick.

I'm not the first, and won't be the last. We need to start getting all rooted members to use assadulah's guide to find their AAA and AH codes so they can right them down just in case they wind up like me.

Where is his guide? Also LGNPST is hard for some people to set up....sometimes it doesn't install correctly at all....

W00t!!!!! Just unbricked my old ov. It's not a stone cold brick, it's a zombie. Barely alive. Screens broke, speakers missing, and it had m firmware on it caus I was really tired when I flashed that xD.

Edit: Tried to fix the loud speaker for music and speaker phone, while trying to solder the speaker back on, I ripped of the contact xD
