live up to our expectations. We're all going to be so disappointed. It's like chasing the woman of your dreams for months only to find out shes got bad breath. :D

    I'm sad already.:(

I managed to get my hands on the phone this morning and yes, I'm way disappointed. Not only was the picture quality less than I had hoped for but when I left it in the room alone for 20 minutes it was trying to grope my sleeping wife. It may be a smart phone but it's not a moral one.

We'll be fine. We've all had our beer goggles moments, but this phone isn't that bad. Well nothing a Hefty Steel Sack and the light switch won't fix though right?

    :D

I'm still tripping out on the fact that before the EVO was announced, I was crazy about my Blackberry. Now...I can't wait to chuck that sucker into Lake Michigan and get my 4G on!

I can finally say that I'm getting my phone TOMORROW!!! (It's only a daaaay aaawaaaaaay!!!) :D

I think the only people that will complain about it will be those who buy into the labels, like 720P, or 8 megapixel and 4G! Let's face it, those are there to sell phones to the blind consumer that believes anything a company advertises. It still a phone, it not going to replace a high quality camera with a good quality sensor vs whatever sensor the could fit into the back of the Evo. The video is clearly compressed due to storage restrictions, it may start as 720p.. but ends up rather grainy due to compression. As for the 4G, set your expectations to a 2 or 3mb dl speed and hopefully it will meet that. It's brand new technology, it will have it's issues, they all do.

Taking a realistic view of it will help not getting upset when you unbox your shiney new toy and realize it's really not as perfect as they (Sprint/HTC) want us all to believe.

I'm buying one, but have a realistic expectation for what it's features can do. :)

yup, it never fails, thats why I hope the mods create & sticky a satisfaction poll... because if they don't anyone coming to the forum to research the phone will get the wrong impression... I've seen it happen with all of my past smartphones

I doubt i'll be disappointed unless the phone is a flop & has a self destruct mechanism after 2 weeks.

but my expectations are for a new Sprint Android phone with a 4.3" screen and a wimax radio. Pretty sure those are givens so I've got nothing to lose. I don't expect smething that will do my homework, walk my dog, and listen to my boss.

I broke my Hero 3 weeks ago, since then have been using my Instinct which barely works i have to press buttons about 15x to get it to register, honestly it could be a piece of poop and seem like a godsend at this point.

Funny, I was kind of thinking the same thing yesterday. I'm coming from a rooted Hero so it wont be as big of a jump as I originally thought. I'm still getting one and I'll still enjoy it, but I know what your saying.

I'm coming from a Touch Diamond (1" screen or so it seems and a stylus....BWAHAHAHA)...if this thing doesn't run out of battery by noon (after an all night charge) or locks up every hour or just shuts down ...it will get high marks from me.

Don't know how many of you have rocked a Diamond but this thing is on my last nerves...last week my kid put it somewhere (wife found it), the sad thing is I didn't care enough about the POS to even look for it. Three days later it turns up.

I was like, I can wait 2 weeks for the Evo, who needs the aggravation.

  25. I'm tired of my iPhone not having a toothpaste dispenser, so I'm hoping that a later Android update will incorporate it...
