Some of those were genuinely funny.

Overall, it just proves me right about that so-called social media thing and I shall continue to remain steadfastly not a twit.

    it's mostly pointless I agree.

And I'm still unconvinced by Facebook. I call it the anti-social media.

If the idiot would read, she'd know. Even Wikipedia can be helpful.

I read almost everything except violence and porn.

The kid and I post no personal stuff on FB. We discuss animals. Otters and Moggies. but any animal will do. I only look at her page, and she has never identified me.

I'm getting pi**sed at so many companies who only do customer service live that way.

I don't do selfies. My cat will. We just came back from a trip to Canyonlands and Arches and watching all these selfie sticks was funny. People standing in front of the Welcome to Canyonlands sign with selfie sticks. Some also pose the whole family.

I was somewhat counter culture in my youth. That I now listen to some music and think to myself "what in the world do kids call music now-a-days?" is proof I am becoming my grandfather.

I don't have A/C in my truck, and will pull up alongside a boom car playing rap with their windows open. I'll start bouncing in time to the rap, shocking those in the car, then if the light doesn't change, we've had some good conversations.

I preferred the loud rap to the elevator style music that was popular a couple of years ago.

While I won't play Pokemon, I've had interesting talks with the people of all ages who do.

I have actually threatened myself to buy an air horn, compressor and the Chicken Dance song for it. When some young whelp in an $800 car with a $3500 sound system in it comes boom-boom-booming up next to me, I'll let loose with 120db of Chicken Dance :D

I am proud to say, I have not watched any of those shows.

... okay, I've seen bits and pieces of a couple, but under duress!

... well, except for GoT, but I read the books before the show even was, so there!

It's been so long since I've watched anything but sports and science/history sort of programming that I'm completely out of the loop.

"Fleek" totally snuck up on me. I'm still not sure what it means?

I'm confused...where was the "fleek" reference? I have no idea what it means either. ;)

Somewhere closer to the opposite of this topic...

I'm listening to a classical station today while continuing the process of clearing out my mom's house (my sister's choice, though I generally like classical music okay) and a tune comes on that strikes a pop culture memory for me.

The tune in question is Samuel Barber's moving and varied "Adagio for Strings:"

    The pop culture reference?

Seinfeld...bonus pop culture points if you can id the episode after listening to the tune.

Well the whole phrase is "On Fleek" but I had to do some research to find that out. it means you're well dressed or groomed. Sounds like something from the Jazz Age to me???

You know your not dialed into popular culture when streaming is not how you listen to music on your phone.

I'm not one to be left behind though. I long ago ripped my CD collection to mp3. Interestingly, a new car I'm buying does have a stereo with a multi-CD player. I may load it up with a few favourites.

Mine has a USB port. I use that. I had to replace one unit when red dust from off-roading somehow got into it.
The Vulcan's Lexus wants Bluetooth. I've got to try the connector in the console. I thought it was a charger, but apparently not.

Well I thought loading the CD tray up was more convenient than plugging in a phone or mp3 player. Although it does also have Bluetooth, so I can't wait to have a play around with that.

I use the CD slot in my car radio to hold a mount for the phone, so I can stream music from it. It's never had a CD in it.

I have too many BT devices running and try to keep my phone as clean as I can so it's reliable...So....I use the audio cable and my ZUNE! Lol. Old school, but it has so many songs on it and there really isn't anything else that can carry as much and already has it all sorted the way I like. I tried iPod, ie The Dark Side, and NO.
